Alisha Searl serves as our general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor. Starting in June, 2011, she is no stranger to Tennessee. Her love for storytelling and rich culture lead her to WBBJ-TV, an ABC affiliate in Jackson. Before that she worked at a CBS affiliate in Northeast Georgia. Throughout the years, her titles included reporter, anchor, photographer, producer, and host of a weekly pet adoption series.
Alisha’s news philosophy can be summed up with a simple checklist once shared by a fellow journalist. He said in news, faith stands for fair, accurate, interesting, thorough, and human. Alisha has kept that “faith checklist” with her throughout her reporting career and will continue to do so in the Tennessee Valley, as she strives to always inform you through her stories.
While Alisha hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she calls the South home. But do not be mistaken, she will always cheer on the Green Bay Packers! If you cannot find her in green and gold attire, you can find her at the latest restaurants, hiking, or learning about different cultures through art. The motto she lives by can be summed up by a simple quote, “Follow your dream. Work hard. Be different. Things can happen.”
Not a day goes by that she does not want to hear your stories, so please email her at
