Well, just hard to believe some of the temperatures this morning. In Chattanooga, a new record low was set! Instead of July, we had temperatures more like October.

Here’s a look at a few of the cold spots.

46 in Crossville, TN!

49 Bledsoe State Forest, TN

52 in Ocoee, TN

52 in Murphy, NC

Many others in the mid 50s. In Chattanooga, at 6:19am we bottomed out at 59 setting a new record. The old record was 60 back in 1947.

Now for you weekly outlook:

Monday-Tuesday: The rest of today will feature a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. We have the chance of breaking another record low tonight with the record for Tuesday a 60, back in 1947. The forecast low for tonight is 60.

Tuesday will top out in the mid 80s will extra sunshine expected and a light southerly breeze.

Wednesday-Thursday: A cold front will approach the TN valley by early Wednesday with an increase in moisture and a chance of showers. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s. Not looking for much rain. The front hangs around for Thursday with more scattered showers and storms. Highs in the mid 80s.

Friday-Sunday: Hot and humid on Friday with a chance of a few afternoon storms. Highs in the upper 80s. Drier air moves in for Saturday, keeping the area a dry. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s. Another cold front will push into the region on Sunday with showers and storms in the afternoon.

5-day rain totals don’t offer much and many once again need more rain after limited amounts last week. Most locations will average around a quarter inch through Saturday.

See you soon,

Brian
