When it rained, it poured! That was the case late yesterday and last night as a cold front marched through the area. With it, came heavy rain and even prompted both Severe Thunderstorm warnings and flood advisories. Now that the rain has moved on, we are left with clouds and rain totals to report:

Chattanooga set a daily record yesterday with 2.79” of rain, but the amounts varied

throughout the viewing area. Chattanooga saw less than an inch for the entire month of June!

Here is a look at some of totals:

Ringgold, GA:   2.14”

Monteagle, TN:   1.95”

Altamont, TN:   1.60”

Pikeville, TN:   1.43”

5 M East of Chatt: 1.38”

Ooltewah, TN:   1-1.50”

LaFayette, GA:   1.15”

Dunlap, TN:   .83”

Cleveland, TN:   .60-.75”

Red Bank, TN:   .73”

Jasper, TN: .56”

For the rest of today, look for a mostly cloudy sky giving way to some sunshine later this afternoon. There is still a slight chance of a shower or storm. Highs, depending on the sunshine, will reach the low to mid 80s.

Drier, less humid air will arrive by tonight, helping to clear the sky and allowing us to fall into the low to mid 60s by Tuesday morning.

Tuesday-Friday: Look for plenty of sunshine and a few afternoon clouds. Highs will reach the mid 80s to around 90. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature lower humidity.

A few scattered, afternoon storms on Saturday and Sunday with highs around 90.

See you soon,

Brian
