8/25/08 You Can't Look but Can't Look Away! Placing 5th at the Krystal Qualifier

What a Saturday…and I was ready. No I didn’t expect to eat nearly the amount of Humble Bob or the 103 that Joey Chestnut ate last year, but just not to place last. The Chattanooga Qualifier for Krystal Square Off 5 was good to me as I was able to place fifth out of 14.  

I SOMEHOW got 18 Krystal Hamburgers down in 8mins by dunking them in water and eating them as fast as I could. I was up against some serious eaters from around the country and manage to eclipse a couple, which do this as a hobby. For me, I can eat, but this was my first 8-minute bout.

Humble Bob ate 58, second was 26, third was 20, 4th 19 and 5th was 18. And get this, at the half way mark, I was in second place! 

It was different, but it was fun. Many friends and supporters asked afterwards how I felt. Lets just say I felt and got…sick.
