Behind the Scenes with A Cleveland Winner on The Price Is Right

Over the years, we've shown you several local people who have made it onto "The Price Is Right."
But few (if any) scored as big as the Mikel family in Cleveland this week.
The episode with Kayla aired this week.
The family had to keep quiet for months about their big adventure this summer until it finally made it on the air this fall.
Kayla Mikel won some early prizes, and made it back for the Showcase Showdown.
Here is how it went, complete with the family storming the stage during the credits.
Kayla is a college student at Austin Peay University these days.
Her mom says she plans on keeping the Lexus and driving it back to college.
Getting on the show was a real family affair.
Our Kristen Johnson talked to mom, Sheryl Taylor, about their strategy for getting on the show (thanks to a UT connection). ![]()
Then Sheryl tells us how Drew Carey treated them.
And finally, behind the scenes on coming up with the bid and how the show looks from the audience.
