Animal Fix: Turkey Tom-Foolery!
Submitted by Aline Doering on November 15, 2007 - 6:18pm. BONUS VideoThanksgiving may be just days away, but that didn't stop one wild turkey from strutting his stuff down a suburban St. Louis street.
The turkey was spotted Tuesday (11-13) in Clayton, Missouri.
At first the pheasant seems a little camera shy hiding behind cars. But moments later, this big guy gets some courage and heads into the street to show neighbors what he's got.
i'm Clyde, and i'm not dinner!
There are few moments during this time of the year that our turkey friends are safe. But that wasn't the case Wednesday (11/14) when Alabama's Governor Bob Riley pardoned "Clyde" the turkey.
More than 80 school age kids were on hand to watch an Executive Branch tradition that date backs to the 1940's.
you are officially pardoned, non-dinner...
Every Alabama governor who's held office since then has been given a bird, but First Lady Patsy Riley has used these events as a way to promote social causes.
Over the past four years Mrs. Riley has collected blankets for the needy for the coming cold season.
