Harry Thornton
I remember as a child crawling up on my daddies' lap to watch wrestling on Saturday afternoons. I use to love Mr. Wrestling II. I still look up everything I can about him. He was like a superhero to me. I mean, he wore a mask and fought the bad guys. That's a superhero, right?
Later, when I started going to school, i would have to be at my grandmother's house @ 6 a.m. There, every morning , we watched the morning show with Harry Thornton.
That man was such an important part of my childhood, and the reason I love wrestling today. His shows brought my family together in a way nothing else on t.v. has since. It was something we could share, old and young alike.
It still breaks my heart to know that he only got to enjoy a few months of his retirement before he died. I guess its amazing what you recollect from your childhood.
