What a disgusting individual. Not only has he put his family and friends in a horrible position, but his Officers as well. Handing a gun and a badge to anyone outside of law enforcement is quite an act of disregard for the public at large. He has now opened the door for citizens to disregard the Badge, either out of fear or opportunity. "How do I know it's real?....." What kind of company was this man keeping that he was associated with a Cooperating Witness he believed had that kind of connections? As small as Chattanooga is, I find it hard to believe that no one noticed the Sheriff in town was busy down on the Boulevard. I'm from the "right side of the tracks" and even I know what you go down the Boulevard for. As a twenty-one year member of the East Brainerd community I drive down the stretch of road dedicated to an Officer killed in the line of duty every single day. I have always felt safe in my neighborhood, thanks to the Officers in my area. I don't want to look at them with one eyebrow raised, but how can I not? This is just sickening all the way around.
