RE: Support for the Good Sheriff Billy Long
Are you kidding? "Good" Sheriff Long has just been caught up in bad stuff? First, I do agree with you that George W. Bush is a very evil man who has been lying to our nation's people for far too long, but that's not my point.
The former Sheriff Long has a long list of charges against him. Innocent until proven guilty should always prevail. Therefore, if he is indeed proven guilty, i hope he gets the maximum sentence! I know that may seem a bit harsh, but Chattanooga has more things to worry about. We want our area to be a prosperous, wonderful place to live and Long made that goal very hard to live up to. It makes me very sad every time I hear about corruption and scandal among the representatives of our people (i.e. Long, Crutchfield, Bush...) There are too many people these days that abuse their power for personal glory.
On a lighter and embarrassing note, but not as embarrassing as the actions of Long, Monday night's "Headlines" on Leno hit close to home:
"Sheriff Long took some kids on a field trip to jail to see what happens to criminals..." At the bottom of the article, that was I think in the Times Free Press: "Sheriff Long was unavailable for comment Saturday because of his arrest on federal extortion, money laundering, and gun charges."
What's embarrassing? Not only is it from our city--that's not even all the charges.
Oh, yes, and Sheriff Long, his family, and our community need our prayers and may justice reign triumphant.
