republican/democrat
now i have seen it all! jim hammond works l6 yrs as deputy chief under democratic sheriff, runs as a demorcrat for the office when HQ Evatt decides to retire. now the republican party supports him as candidate to run for sheriff. He not only was not elected as a democrat, with all the cronies supporting him,now the republican party supports him,why did they not just vote for him when he ran as a democrat.
There were two other candidates that were willing to step up and seek the position that I know of who would make a better candidate and keep the democrat/republican politics out to the picture. the best qualififed being Lt Tim Carroll, not only because of his experience, but because of his dedication to law enforcement and the officers that would have been under his command. not the politics he would play when elected. there will be additional comments on this race as the election moves forward.
