The board that governs Erlanger Health Systems unanimously approves a partnership to strengthen the LIFE FORCE air medical program. A company called Med-Trans will buy Erlangers three helicopters and various spare parts for 12 point one million dollars. Hospital leaders say Erlanger will retain business and medical control of LIFE FORCE. Med-Trans will control operations of the aircrafts. Both groups in the new partnership say patients in our region will benefit. < Our goal is be up time and at those scenes even more often and more rigorously than we are today because we've got limitations. If one of our fleet goes down we're left with two helicopters trying to cover the entire region. This allows us to have a broader base stronger capability.>
Under the agreement all 59 employees will stay the same but LIFE FORCE pilots and mechanics will transition to Med-Trans with comparable pay and benefits.
