La Z Boy moving to Mexico
It was bound to happen with the immigration laws and the environmental regulations, and the laws concerning employee wages and benefits. The Mexican women I worked with were some of the fastest and highest quality sewing people I've ever seen, yet they were taken from the factory and forced to return to Mexico. They were also willing to accept adverse working conditions and lower wages for the chance to provide better lives and educational opportunities for their families.
I'm sorry for the people losing their jobs, but I understand some of La Z Boy's and other businesses' reasons for doing this.
