INTERVIEW: John O'Hurley Talks "Secret Talents of the Stars," Plus How To Vote At Home

CBS launches a new reality show tonight with an interesting concept. "Secret Talents of the Stars" lets people like Clint Black and Mya try their hand at a life-long dream.
That's not the cool part though. I'm really intrigued by the interactive nature of the show. After each performance, viewers get to vote online about how they think that star did. At the end of the show, the top two vote getters move on to the next round.
CBS even set up a cool bracket, like basketball fans are used to for Final Four season. Here's a link to take you right to the voting page tonight, so you don't have to hunt it down later.
"Secret Talents of the Stars" will air live at 10:00pm on Tuesdays over the course of the next 6 weeks, ending with the final show on Thursday May 22nd.
I spoke with show host John O'Hurley today for WDEF News 12 at Noon and he revealed some of the features of the show. Clint Black is getting help from Gary Shandling for his stand-up, but Black is writing some of his own material too. Plus, George Takei from Star Trek will be trying his talent at crooning country.
Here's a complete list of what to watch for over the next seven weeks:

Tuesday, April 8 – Week 1 - Clint Black (country singer) will perform stand-up comedy, Sasha Cohen (Olympic ice skating medalist) will show her agility as a contortionist, Mya (singer/actress) will demonstrate her tap-dancing prowess and George Takei (actor) will croon as a country singer. Viewer votes will determine TWO Semi-Finalists.
Tuesday, April 15 - Week 2 - Jo Dee Messina (country singer) will perform an urban dance, blending hip hop and step, with a supporting troupe, Joshua Morrow will train with Marcus Monroe to choreograph an edgy rock & roll juggling act, backed by a live band, Bridget Marquardt (Playboy Playmate/radio DJ), will soar as a bungee trapeze artist with former masters of Cirque du Soleil and Roy Jones, Jr. (boxing champion) will rap. Viewer votes will determine TWO Semi-Finalists.
Tuesday, April 22 – Week 3 - FOUR acts will perform (Semi-Finalists from Week 1 and Week 2). Viewers will vote to determine TWO FINALISTS.
In subsequent weeks, additional celebrities competing in SECRET TALENTS OF THE STARS include Malcolm-Jamal Warner (actor) on bass accompanied by a Hip Hop Orchestra as they perform an original song; Marla Maples (actress/model) presenting her gymnastic abilities with The Anti-Gravity Troupe featuring unusual gear, aerials, flips and bungee mechanics; Ric Flair (Wrestling Champion) surprising viewers with his salsa dancing skills; Joe Frazier (World Champion boxer) showcasing his smooth moves as a rhythm & blues singer; Danny Bonaduce (actor/radio DJ) maneuvering a unicycle with members of The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus; Sheila E. (singer/drummer) juggling with The Flying Karamazov Brothers; Cindy Margolis (spokesmodel/actress) performing magic; and Ben Stein (pop culture personality) dancing The Jitterbug.
