The cause

Parents, the media, and our government are all to blame for the current raise in violence among teens. I am a PUBLIC school teacher at a local Hamilton High School. I have taught in both inner city and rural locations during my time here. From what I have seen a lack of parental supervison is mostly to blame. I understand that money is tight, but my suggestion would be to cut the Comcast Cable bill, stop buying video games for your children, and start cooking dinner and spend some time with your family. I am young, 28, and I come from a large family where my parents would have been considered "blue-collar" workers. I didn't have cable, video games, or expensive clothing, but I did grow up with values and a moral sense of right and wrong. I grew up knowing how to work. Kids today feel like they should get whatever they want whenever they want it. Until families become a family again we will continue to see a rise in violence in teens. Just look at McCallie, you don't have to be a PUBLIC school to see the problems in teen violence.
