did not get check but IRS claims i did
I got a letter telling me I would receive a $600 stimulus check, then no check. Then the IRS requested more info about my employee expenses, which I provided promptly. No check arrived. I could find no way to determine the status of my check (and there is no way to contact the IRS by email). Okay.... but now, in filing my 2008 return, the IRS claims I did receive the check, on its website where you find out how much your check was, and when Turbo Tax returned my forms which were rejected by the IRS for entering the wrong amount for the stimulus credit (I got no check, no deposit, I paid my taxes due with my 2007 1040, so I entered ZERO for my amount). Did it ever get cashed ? Did the IRS mail it somewhere else ? Did someone steal my check ? Or did some crook in the government take it ? How can I find out ?
