It all starts at home
Before you go off and start blaming the officers at the school system for doing exactly what they are put there to do look at yourself and other parents of children who have behavior issues. If parents would teach their children to repect authority figures and obey simple, yet effective rules, then SRO's would not be a need. However, since a few roudy children make it an issue to distract other children officers are needed. As a graduate from a Hamilton Co school where SRO's were needed I am glad that I had one when things became rough. Do you complain when an adult gets hit with a tazer...NO. So if young adults and teens want to act like adults and disrespect authority figures then the will be treated the same. The officer gave the student time to comply with his directions and he failed to do so. If that officer was forced to use his tazer then he is trained in how to do it. So get off his back. Who do parents feel the need to complain when the very system they want to protect is protected.
