Investigators Arrest Two Men for Breaking Into Cars at the Pocket Wilderness

At least two thieves have targeted the Pocket Wilderness in Soddy Daisy.
Deputies arrested 34-year-old Kandi Summers and issued warrants for 36-year-old James Perry for two of the break-ins.
Hamilton County Deputies responded to 81 calls in the area since May.
"the problem with this area is it's so secluded and as you can tell there's not a lot of people around, everybody's down on the creek, in the creek swimming, and the creek hides any noise that goes on up here." 13

"I haven't even walked half way down this trail, but hikers tell me it's still about a 20 minute walk down, but you can't even see your cars from here." 8
Deputies and park rangers have made a special effort to keep an eye on the area, but the public still has to do its part.
Templeton warns visitors to stop leaving valuables in their cars.
He recommends putting them in the trunk before arriving, so no one will see you doing it.
Tony Walker brings his sons to Pocket Wilderness often since school let out.
He locks his doors and makes sure the windows are up.
"if it's in there it's hidden, so, I don't leave anything out where anybody could see if anything was valuable in there." 5
"There's an excellent chance that if you leave something valuable in the car, it's not going to be there when you get back." 7
Deputies warn potential thieves they're using innovative investigative tools to catch them.
