A Pikeville man receives a reply to a letter he wrote to President Obama.
Michael Powers followed Obama's rise to the White House.
He heard that Obama smoked, and got the idea to write him a letter using his own father's story.
Powers even sent the president a picture of his dad.
He says, "He passed away on august 21st 1979 from lung born and throat cancer because of smoking three packs of cigarettes a day. So, what you need to do is just stop now, and it was like an exclamation point."
Powers wants the president to stop smoking for his daughters' sake.
But he was shocked to get a letter back from the president.
Obama thanked Powers for the letter and the good advice.
