The "Race Card" is not the only Play
The "Race Card" is not the only Play, but most of the time its the only card we're left with. I agree that every time something happens in the African American community, the media and the police department thinks its about "gangs and drugs". This incident had nothing to do with either. Not all African Americans are into drugs and gangs and that is something that need to be cleared up. What about the White rich kids that get hooked on drugs and wear saggy pants? Are they labeled as drug dealers, addicts, gangsters or thugs? I resent the word thugs in identifing our young Black males, when white males do the same thing. When its an African American its usually about race no matter how you slice it. Take Michael Vick for instance he did 18 months in prison for abuse of dogs. Michael Phelps was shown on the cover of a magazine smoking a pipe and nothing happened. There are so many instances like this that happens every day, so what are African Americans supposed to think. The Police shot and killed a 14 year Black male in a Chattanooga Housing Project, camers are everywhere, but there was no footage of the teen raising the weapon at the officer. That was covered up. I'll bet the officer never told that he was on the porch playing "Poker with another gentleman. The Black male that was shot multiple times by officers, nothing was done about that. The young man was suicidal, they should have just let him shoot himself. I think that was "OVER-KILL. Not everything is the parents fault. When it seems that you have done all you can do and you cannot get help for resources that are supposed to be available to people trying to get help for a wayward child the system often fails. May GOD bless both of the families involved. Instead of critizing and trying to pass judgement, we as a community wheather Black or White, lets try to reach all of our children with the Word of God and ernestly pray for them.
