Students all over Hamilton County hit the streets on Friday as part of the month of Walk-tober.
It's a P-T-A sponsored effort to get kids active and healthy in the fight against obesity.
At Calvin Donaldson Elementary, 300 kindergarten through 5th graders took a 20-minute walk through the neighborhood.
Tim Hixson\Hamilton Co Council of PTAs
"Over the last few years it's really become a big issue with children, their weight and we thought we would get out through the PTA a way to get kids moving."
School leaders say it's important to teach healthy habits while children are young.
