Wednesday afternoon,  McMinn County man sees two teenagers franticly running to his home from the woods looking for help.  He did not want to be identified.
"They were white as cotton they were white as this snow," the neighbor said, "They were scared to death.  They were in shock.  Both of them were bleeding."
The neighbor told us the children told him their father had shot them and then himself.
"They asked me to take them to the hospital. Said they'd been shot.  So I got them in the car and I took them to the hospital fast," said the neighbor.
Their father was Stanley Striker, a man caught in the middle of his wife's tragic murder 14 years ago.
In May of 2000, Patty Striker was found murdered at the family's winery in Athens and her killer was never found, although many family members and people in the community suspected Stanley.
Sheriff Joe Guy says Wednesday's shooting happened in the same place Patty was killed, the family's old winery.
"For some reason he opened fired on his own children.  They were injured and were able to get away and Mr. Striker apparently took his own life," said Guy.
The winery has also been the scene to suspicious fires since Patty's murder.
"We're not sure if this had anything to do with that or not, it would be pure speculation to say it did, but it does raise a lot of questions," Guy said.
Sheriff Guy says they're still investigating what led up to the shooting, but says Stanley was dealing with custody issues.
TBI is assisting in the investigation.
