EAST RIDGE, TN (WDEF-TV) John Frost and Cynthia Luedkebriant were both found dead in their home.

It began when neighbors noticed mail piling up at the residence. Then they became curious about what was going on inside.

According to the police report John was found in a recliner with a semi-automatic pistol in his right hand and a single gunshot wound to the right side of his head.

Cynthia was found in the hallway on her back. Her face was green and body swollen.
There was also a cordless phone base and headset lying next to her.

One neighbor told News 12, it was about three weeks since he spoke with the couple.

"She fell on the driveway and was trying to get up and was having trouble, and I went over there to give her and Johnny a hand,” said Smithson.

He added they were great people.

"Just a great couple. They really were. I'm going to miss them a bunch,” said neighbor Danny Smithson.

He went on and said both John and Cynthia were no strangers to his home.

Smithson said, "She was always coming over talking to my wife. They sit in there and have girl talk, you know. Johnny used to clean my gutters out for me."

He said he has known John since he was three and Cynthia for more than 25 years and said he could not have asked for better neighbors

The cause of Cynthia's dead is still unknown. We spoke with the family off camera and they just want some privacy at this time.
