Chattanooga is known to have one of the fastest internet speeds on the planet.
And the man who helped make that happen is getting recognized here locally.
Harold DePriest has been named the 2013 Chattanooga Area Manager of the Year.
DePriest is the President and CEO of E-P-B.
He's getting the award for transforming Chattanooga into America's first "Gig City" and equipping it with a next-generation Smart Grid network.
"It is a great honor, I don't think it's because of me I think it's because of my people. They've done some great things and it's really been good working with them."
The Award recognizes an executive manager who has made significant contributions to the Hamilton County area.
The Manager of the Year Award is made annually by member organizations of CAMOY, which stands for Chattanooga Area Manager of the Year.
