CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF-TV) Chris Anderson has on been on the job for nine months and some residents of the 7th district say they have seen enough.
Alton Park Piney Woods Neighborhood Association President Gill Schropshire said he is happy to see that the Election Commission agreed with the recall.
"I'm proud of that," he said. "I'm glad they are listening to the people and they people do have a voice."
Chris Anderson felt differently. He called the recall waste of both taxpayers money and resources. He felt that some residents don't agree with his sexual preference because all other reasons for his recall are false.
He said when it comes to meeting community members, "I've had 12 different meetings with the Alton Park Development Corporation. Some people involved in the recall were at each of those."
There was a list of meetings he provided News 12, and claimed that Dr. Elanora Woods was present at each meeting. She is the Executive Director for the Alton Park Development Corporation. When News 12 reached out to Dr. Woods, she said that was not completely true.
"We met with him three times," said Dr. Woods on meeting Anderson.
She also added that she does not represent the Alton Park Piney Woods Neighborhood Association, and her meetings with Councilman Anderson are for the Alton Park Development Corporation.
Anderson said he will fight the recall.
The recall vote will be on August 7
