CHATTANOOGA,TN (WDEF-TV) Chris Anderson fires back at those who are calling for a recall.
A few residents of the seventh district in Chattanooga claim that Anderson does not care about their needs, but he says that’s far from the truth.
“District 7 elected a gay councilman and they don’t like it,” said Anderson.
He also added that their rings leader, Charlie Wysong, is pushing this whole agenda.
“Charlie Wysong has a history at protesting any gay rights organization or parade,” he said. “He has a history of being a homophobe, bigot, and there is a mountain of evidence that’s his motivation.”
Wysong said that he is only assisting thing community. It has nothing to do with him.
“I was familiar with the process,” Wysong said. “They asked me if I would help them do this. SO that’s what I’m doing.”
Community leaders claim it’s not about Anderson’s sexual preference. It’s his lack of pushing his own agendas over that of the community.
Even through all of this Anderson didn't seem bothered by this recall. He has done his homework.
“I've talked to neighborhood leaders over the weekend all over my district and I didn't find one that supported this,” said Anderson.
The Election Commission said the petition for the recall would be on the agenda for the February 13 meeting.
