A crowded opening ceremony featured live music and speeches from many of those directly involved. State Representative Kevin Brooks summed up what the airport means to those in the region,
"This new airport, the Jetport, puts us on the global map, Volkswagen and Amazon are here, we can now welcome the world to Cleveland TN, for the first time ever and it's a great day".
The airport features a new terminal building, hangar and 5500 ft runway.
Unfortunately due to the weather most planes were grounded today but the future looks bright for our region's newest airport.
