CHATTANOOGA, Tn (WDEF) - If you have students attending public college in Tennessee, they need to get vaccinated.
It's to prevent a form of meningitis.
The disease is a deadly bacteria that can kill within 24 hours.
It can also leave a person with brain damage, loss of limbs or deafness.
Students at UTC think it's a good idea to get protected.
Dannielle Vicars is a Sophmore.
"Definitely a no-brainer. We need to protect the community and protect the people that are around."
There is no way to predict who will get the disease.
But immunizing students can help prevent it.
