A deadly accident took place at the intersection of Edgemon Road and Lee Highway in Collegedale.
The accident involved a small green sedan and a van.
The crash tied up traffic for hours on Lee Highway, Apison Pike, and Little Debbie Parkway.
There are very few details about exactly what happened.
Medics transported 3 people to the hospital.
One person died from their injuries, according to Collegedale Police Officer Melvin Taylor.
"This is one of our dangerous intersections. We do try to patrol it as much as possible."
Collegedale Police Officers have not released the names of the people involved in the wreck.
They're investigating the case with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
