Ever wanted to test drive an Electric car? You could do that at TVA's Advanced Vehicle Test Facility in Chattanooga Wednesday afternoon.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga operates the facility. Students gain experience with the technology they study in the classroom. This is the first time the facility has offered free test drives along their one mile track. Ron Bailey, UTC Professor said, "We hope they understand how these vehicles work and that they have a good experience, and that they can do that here in an environment where we are not selling anything. We are here just sharing facts." Drew Frye, TVA Engineer said, "It appears that every month that electric vehicles are out they sell more and more so each month is kind of a record, so the sales are really picking up especially across the country but really in Tennessee. Tennessee is one of the top markets."

UTC hopes to do this again in the near future.

This EVent was a noble effort to offset all the negative anti-plugin bias that the rest of the media spews. However, I wish that an announcement at least a week ahead of time is announced by this media outlet so I can get the word out. {brucedp.150m.com}
