Hamilton County teachers are pulling out all the stops this year.. literally.
Principals and teachers at Orchard Knob Elementary took a bus tour around the city today.
They met with students and parents to help them be prepared for the August 7th registration date.
It's also an effort to get the teachers more submerged in the area their students live.
And the kids.. They're ready to get started with school too.

LeAndrea Ware, Hamilton County Schools Innovation Zone Director says, "It's about breaking down barriers, going out into the community to let them know we are here. We're ready to work with you, beside you, to transform our community and provide the best education for our kids."

Deiza Julks, a 7th grader at Orchard Knob Middle School says, "This year I was kinda bad, I was smart though but I hang out the wrong people. So this year I'm trying to focus on work more and try to stay out of trouble and hang around the right people."
The students also received their Summer reading book for free.
It's called Bully, it's another approach to crack down on bullying in schools this year.
