Once again crime scene tape has been rolled out in Chattanooga, this time on Dodds Avenue.
Doc Goodwin, Lives Nearby said, "There looks like a lot of bullets up over there. Like a shoot out or something up there." Chattanooga Police Department were called to "Da Building",which is an event hall that turns into an after hours hang out spot. Investigators say two adult victims were shot in the parking lot. One died and the other victim was injured.
A nearby Business Owner said, "I know when I first, when my business first opened it was a restaurant, and then it turned into a club. Eventually, so probably less than a year its been a club that I'm aware of." This nearby business owner says that she had to address an issue with "da Building" right when they first opened. The Business Owner went on to say, "When I come to work, we have just seen it over fulled with parking, but we nipped that in the butt early. So they have respected my property, and they haven't done anything to destroy anything like that."
Neighbors tell News 12 the club opens Friday and Saturday nights at 1am and doesn't close until 5am. They say it has become a dangerous area that they wish could just be shut down. Goodwin said, "These little young people need to get their lives together and stop going around here and hurting each other." The nearby business owner admits, even with surveillance cameras of her own, she feels a bit unsettled. She said, "I'm not here really late at night, so I just hope that things stay the way that they have been so far since I've been here."
Anyone with any information on this crime is asked to call Chattanooga Police.
