East Ridge Fire and Police Departments responded to a fire alarm on Spring Creek Road.
When they got there, firefighters found a large fire in the laundry room.
The fire started to extend into the rest of the house.
But firefighters got the fire under control.
Damage is estimated at $30,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but no foul play is suspected.
