Mitul Patel says not being allowed to sell alcohol on Sundays has been bad for business at his wine and beer store Beverage World in Fort Oglethorpe.
"We had like at least we had to refuse like 20 customers on Sunday who walk in and come with their growler and we just have to refuse them because they get mad at us."
Until now, Sunday Alcohol sales have been legal in Catoosa County and all it's cities except for Fort Oglethorpe.
"They always ask me why the store down the road can sell it and why you cannot sell it and I have to explain them, we are in city and it is in county that's why we cant sell it," Patel said.
Fort Oglethorpe voted in a referendum 740 to 432 in favor of the Sunday sale of beer and wine at stores.
They also passed beer, wine, and liquor by the drink Sunday Sales 758 to 424.
Patel says it's something that will benefit all of Fort Oglethorpe.
"It's good for all over because now it's passed liquor by the drink. More restaurants will come and more jobs. Everything is gonna much better business wise."
