Four people shot in South Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) - A shooting in South Chattanooga has left four people injured and two suspects in police custody.

It happened Saturday evening around 7:30 near the intersection of Fagan and East 40t st.

Investigators tell WDEF that there was a large gathering of people near that intersection when an altercation occurred. Before long, shots were fired and four people were hit.

Police have identified Kristopher Moore, 24, Tadarrel Oakley, 20, Bennie Melton, 18, and 16 -year old as the four victims. Moore and the 16 year old are in critical condition. Oakley and Melton were last listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers arrested Latrell Walker, 28 and Telvin Douglas, 23 in the Brainerd area.Both are facing multiple counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, evading arrest, unlawful possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

WDEF has also learned that one officer may have been injured while trying to chase one of the suspects.
