A Doctor of Physical Therapy at LaFayette Physical Therapy started doing research about 5 years ago concerning the problem of childhood obesity in North Georgia.
She found the obesity rate was very high in that part of the South.
That's why she helped create a program at Gilbert Elementary to fight back against the problem.
The students took part in an October Olympics challenge at the school.
It's designed to get them up and moving by taking part in a series of relays and races.
It is all age appropriate, and includes activities to improve hand eye coordination and balance through things like jumping, skipping and hopping.
