A 100-thousand dollar investment will help students at Hillcrest Elementary improve their reading skills.
The money comes from the Leonore Annenberg Scholarship, Fellowship, and School Funds.
Hillcrest leaders used the money to create "book nooks" in every classroom.
The "book nook" is basically a mini library in every class.
The students also have soft cushions and chairs on colorful rugs.
And they have bright reading lights to encourage them to read.
Angelia Askins is the Principal of Hillcrest Elementary.
"We wanted our students to have a place in every classroom.
That they can go and snuggle up in a warm cozy place and read".
The school partnered with the school district and the Public Education Foundation to get the money.
