(WDEF) The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger recently received $2,000 from the Hixson Flight Museum.

On August 17, Board Member Andreas Montgomery of the Hixson Flight Museum at Dallas Bay Skypark presented a check for $2,000 to Jim Coles, Nurse Manager of the PICU at Children’s Hospital. Donations raised to support services at Children’s Hospital were collected from various events and programs hosted by the museum.

Since its opening in May 2010, the independent, non-profit Hixson Flight Museum, which is dedicated to aviation education while supporting Children’s Hospital, has donated approximately $18,000 to the hospital.

Children’s Hospital PICU is the highest level of intensive care for children in the region. The staff and physicians are specially trained to provide immediate, 24/7 care for the most critically ill or injured children.
