Howard School got an unusual gift.
Newly elected Judge Gary Starnes gave the school his old office supplies.
The supplies and most of the furnishings come from his law practice.
Since being elected in August, Starnes had 6 months to close his private office practice.
That's when he got the idea to donate to the school, and other charities.
"I think it's great because they don't have those things over there. And no one supplies it. I think it's great. I think it's wonderful. Looking forward to coming over and speaking to the kids, too."
Howard School Executive Administrator Paul David Smith says the donation is appreciated.
"And when I look at the volume of what we're getting, this is enough to supply a lot of teachers for the rest of this school year. And just enough to keep kids who forget a pencil, forget their pens, forget pads. It's enough to keep them furnished for the rest of this school year."
We'll have more on the donation during an upcoming edition of "What's Right With Our Schools."
