Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School's pre-season football meeting had a more somber mood than usual, since their teammate Chase Smith wasn't there with them.
"Chase had some headaches at home a week ago Sunday, his parents took him in and they were trying to decide if it was stroke verses something else.  And it turned out he had had a stroke and he's had a total of four since his admission a week ago Sunday," said Booster Mom Kelly Heard.
Other Warrior players say everything seemed fine with Chase during summer practice.
"He'll help you out.  He'll encourage you to do more, like more weight, he'll encourage you on the field to work harder push to get more of what you can do," said Freshman Seth Scarbrough.
Just like on the playing field, the Warriors plan to look out for their fellow player.
The team collected money during their meeting inside and on the side of the road, hoping to give whatever they can to help Chase's family with medical bills.
"We're the Warriors," said Senior Frankie Pinkston, "We've got to band together and help another teammate when he's down."
