Chattanooga Track club members met just like any other Monday, but there were a lot more on their minds for this run.
They were shocked by the explosions that rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon and worried for friends that were running there.
"One of them is Ryan Shrone who's our four time runner of the year and I've got another good friend Sue Barlow who finished probably about 15 minutes before the bomb went off. And they both finished because I could see their names on the list of finishers but I can't find my friend Cirus Row who would have finished around that time," said local runner Lynda Webber.
Local runner Susan Gallo said, "I just couldn't believe that anyone would target runners, it's one of the most benin groups there ever was and to do that at Boston. It's not just Americans there it's people from all over the world that come to that race."
Sally Bates watched for updates in horror after her work out.
"Theres so many emotions when you finish at a finish line," she said, "It's euphoria, it's everything ,and then that's turned into absolute tragedy.
The group pushes on with a runners perseverance.
"It was always on my mind being post 9/11 that anything could happen at any time so I don't let fear rule my life. I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do," Gallo said.
