Barbara Finley says this past Sunday was the third time she's found raw sewage backed up into her bathroom.
It's problem first floor senior residents of Mary Walker Towers have been dealing with for at least a year now.
"Sometimes I can try to catch it, but I hear it bubbling in there in the toilet," said resident Troy Reaves.
"We don't want to live like this.  We don't want to have to wake up in the middle of the night and our apartments are flooded with sewer water," said resident Margie Farmer.
Finley said she's reported the problem.
"I've talked to the maintenance about it and I've talked to the president about it and all they say is we are working on it.  They can't tell me when they're gonna fix it," said Finley.
We went to Chattanooga Housing Authority Executive Director Betsy McCright, who said she first learned about the problem when we contacted her.
"The staff has been dealing with it, it just hadn't reached me yet," McCright said.
She told us their maintenance department has been working on it.
"We've put in a temporary fix which would cause any of the refuse to, instead of flowing into the residence apartments, would flow into an earthen area below the first floor where the residence live.  That clearly is not working," said McCright.
Now McCright says she's making sure they take it a step further.
They sent contractors out Friday to recommend another temporary fix, and they'll likely have to hire engineers to see if underground pipes need major work.
"This is a serious health and safety issue, so we will do everything to get this resolved as quickly as possible," McCright said.

Well, there ya go, it's a government run housing program. Major problems are to be expected as such. And now they want to implement govt. run healthcare? Would be laughable if it wasn't so scary.
