King Allah James sits in handcuffs at the Hamilton County courthouse Wednesday. James is accused of spitting and biting officers at Silverdale.

Tracy Robinson, "It's a big mess but he hasn't killed anyone, he hasn't broke into nobodys house, he was a young man that was beat by Hamilton County police officers."

James' mother, Tracy Robinson, says her son is the one who's been abused.

Tracy Robinson, "The only thing they're saying is he spit on the officers. And, uh, the charges that are alleged are not true."

Robinson says she's fighting for justice for her son. She says her son is being held on an extreme bond for misdemeanor charges... Of assault. But, Hamilton County Corrections officials say James has assaulted them.

David Donahue, Ham Co. Corrections Officer, "I walk him in the cell, try to back out, when I try to back out of the cell he spit on me and swung. At the time, I maced him, it had no affect on him whatsoever."

But Robinson and James disagree and want a lower bond. Judge Poole granted the reduction but not without reservations.

Judge Poole, "I think theres danger not only to the public at large, I still think there's danger to the family, his own family if a realistic bond is not set to protect the public."

That's when Robinson spoke up.

Tracy Robinson, "My family is not in danger with my son."

Robinson then left the courtroom.
