State Representative JoAnne Favors (D) is trying to help navigate the community through Affordable Healthcare.
She joined Chattanooga NAACP members to explain how each person will be affected by the law.
"We have a group of people who are going about doing just as I am, explaining this to people," said Favors.
The NAACP President James Mapp says it's important for community members to listen up.
"We've got to talk it community to community.  We've got to let it be known that we are concerned that everybody's covered under this act," Mapp said.
Favors says it's especially important for uninsured people, who need to enroll now before they're penalized.
The open enrollment period started October first, and goes through March 31st.
"We have until March the 31st for the initial enrolment period but I think people are going to hear more and more about it and be able to make an informed decision," Favors said.

If "obamacare" is so great, why do they need a law to make people buy it?
