CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF-TV) The HBO Documentary focused on a problem many families and one woman in particular have to face around the country.

The film is called Paycheck to Paycheck: The Life and Times of Katrina Gilbert.
It tells the story of a 30-year-old Chattanooga mother of three, who works as a nursing assistant and struggles to make ends meet.

But Katrina said she has found a way to deal with the struggle

"I try to give them everything that they need,” said Gilbert. “It's hard, and I put myself on the back burner, but I do it. I get it done."

This film wanted to highlight that Katrina is not alone. The documentary tells the story of many around the country and that’s what HBO producer, Sascha Weiss, wanted.

"Katrina's story is every women's story,” said Weiss. “There are 42 million women in this country who are living in poverty or on the brink."

The Chambliss Center for Children is what guided HBO not only to Chattanooga but also directly to Katrina.

The non-profit helps with early childhood education and has a childcare program. President of the Chambliss Center Phil Acord always felt the center was one of a kind.

"We have known all along that this program here in Chattanooga, Tennessee is very advance and we knew that is was unique," said Acord.

Chattanooga, Katrina and the Chambliss Center were able to provide a backdrop to a nationwide problem, and Katrina hopes the nation feels what she feels when watching it.

"It made me cry, but it makes you laugh, but it makes you cry,” said Gilbert. “So you are going to need some tissues when you watch it.”

It will make its HBO debut on March 17.
