(WDEF)  Businesses, local non-profits, the Public Education Foundation and the Hamilton County Department of Education joined forces today to strengthen our schools.
The Leadership Pipeline program aims to support new and veteran principals.
Almost $1 million has been raised so far.
And the PEF says pledges amount to $1 million more for the 5-year initiative.
      It's all for principal training.
PEF president Dan Challener explained, "Business leaders understand the importance of leadership.  Every business that does well is led by effective leaders.  They understand that the same is true for a public school."
Leadership Pipeline promoters say the principals will inspire 3,000 teachers who will then transform the future of 42,000 students.
And, they say, that could have a $620-million impact on our local economy.
