Salvation Army to Help South Pittsburg Flood Victims

(WDEF) THE SALVATION ARMY IS CALLED TO SERVE RESIDENTS AND VOLUNTEERS OF SOUTH PITTSBURG, TN

Chattanooga, TN – The Mayor of South Pittsburg, Jane Dawkins, called upon The Salvation Army to provide food and beverages to the residents of South Pittsburg, TN.  The Salvation Army is loading food and volunteers on its Mobile Kitchen and is prepared to serve over 100 folks today.  The Salvation Army is also sending Sergeant Ruth Forgey as a Spiritual and Emotional Counselor to assist with emotional needs and offer prayer with residents who are overwhelmed with the effects of last week’s flooding.

The Salvation Army has been notified that the immediate needs are Borax and baby diapers.  Additionally, free cleanup kits are being distributed to affected residents.  Monetary donations in support of this effort may be mailed to 822 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403 or given online at www.csarmy.org or phoned in to 1-800-Sal-Army.
