NASHVILLE, Tenn.—After a strong night for Tennessee Republicans, House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick (R—Chattanooga) released the following statement about his Republican colleagues in Hamilton County. Representative Richard Floyd (R—Chattanooga) and Representative Vince Dean (R—East Ridge) will be returning to the House of Representatives. Additionally, Mike Carter (R—Ooltewah) will be joining them in the General Assembly.

“In the next General Assembly, we are going to continue focusing on private sector job growth, strengthening educational opportunities for our children, and stopping government waste. Representative Floyd and Representative Dean have been important parts of our team in the Capitol and I am proud they are coming back. At the same time, I would like to welcome Mike Carter as the newest Representative in Hamilton County.

“We have a lot of challenges awaiting us in the next two years but, with our team from Hamilton County and this larger Majority, I am confident we will meet them head on and make Tennesseans proud.”
