Employees of the Catoosa Teacher Federal Credit Union are recovering physically and emotionally after two masked men robbed the vault and held them, and one member, at gun point.
Manager Linda Carver showed up as the two masked men were running out...
She said, "Our nerves are a little shaky today, and all of our members are coming in and wanting to make sure we're all right, so it's pretty emotional.>
Carver described the robbers as white males, one tall and one short.
Fortunately the crime was caught on newly-installed security cameras, but they didn't get away empty handed.
She said, "They cleaned out our vault. They were very professional and very quick. The whole thing was over in four minutes."
But those short minutes will no doubt linger in the minds of the employees...
Carver added, "One of my tellers was crying so I was trying to see why, if she was hurt, and she was."
That teller suffered broken tibia in her leg, after one robber leapt through the glass and knocked her down.
Customers, like James Hall, are worried about how the familiar faces at their local credit union will recover. Hall said, "I'm concerned with the people that work here mainly and what that does to someone. A friend of mine that I worked with had a gun held to his head, so you know, I'm concerned about that."
Hall had not spoken with his friend, who he says didn't return to work Friday. "I spoke to his wife and of course she was concerned that she could have lost her husband," he said.
Carver says they're continuing recover from what she said was a life-threatening event.
