Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union’s (TVFCU) Chief Financial Officer, Todd Fortner, has been promoted to Executive Vice President.
“I am really looking forward to working with Todd in his expanded role as our Executive Vice President as we build and grow for the future,” said the credit union’s President & CEO W. Blake Strickland. “Todd will help us take advantage of the many opportunities that lie ahead for TVFCU.”
Todd joined TVFCU in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer after an extensive background in the financial services industry. Upon graduation from Tennessee Tech University, he served as an auditor with Hazlett, Lewis and Bieter Certified Public Accountants in Chattanooga for five years, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was Chief Financial Officer for AOD Credit Union in Bynum, Alabama for several years and then became a financial advisor providing investment planning services. Prior to joining TVFCU, he served as Controller for First Financial Bank in Bessemer, Alabama.
Todd has served on the Board of Directors for Mid-East Tennessee Community Credit Union in Decatur, Tennessee, and currently serves as Board Treasurer for the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults in Chattanooga. Upon graduation from the Credit Union Executive Society’s CEO Institute, he was named one of their “Rising 100” next generation of credit union leaders. Todd and his wife Rebecca live in Chattanooga near Red Bank.
With fourteen branches throughout the Tennessee Valley and more than 98,000 members, TVFCU is the largest credit union in the Chattanooga area.
