CLEVELAND, Tennessee - If state representative Eric Watson gets his way, certain school personnel will be allowed to carry firearms on campus.

Watson Filed legislation to allow certain school personnel to undergo specific training to be prepared for events similar to the violent outburst at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut where more than 20 people were killed by a single gunman.

"We must now focus on enforcing our current laws and expanding the use of resources to an unprotected class. The people must know that we will do all we can in Tennessee to protect our children," said Watson.

Watson is holding a 2pm press conference on Monday at Bradley Central High School in Cleveland. Various school officials are expected to attend and the event is open to the public.
